This website is in memory of a place called home, Ndundu Lodge in the Vumba Mountains of Zimbabwe.
We bought the place in 1998. At that time a basic backpackers called Cloud Castle. We have upgraded the accommodation, laid out the garden, created a fern garden, an orchid house, hiking trails on the property and throughout the Vumba mountains …. And together with all these changes we renamed the place Ndundu Lodge: the local name for the “blue duiker” or a “footballplayer who can dribble very well”, you choose.
In 2000 Mugabe’s reign was threatened, farm invasions and economic decline followed. Our property was taken from us in the 2008 elections. We ended up in Belgium were we still live.
